Endowed Position Scholarship ($375,000 +)
K-State offers donors the opportunity to endow the starting positions on its athletic teams. Donors who
make a cash gift of at least $375,000 or a deferred gift with a present value of at least $375,000 will have
a position on one of K-State’s varsity athletic teams permanently named in their honor or in the honor
or memory of a loved one (i.e. Joe Wildcat Tackle Scholarship). The earnings from these endowments are
used to fund the athletic scholarship for the student-athlete in that position. Along with other benefits, donors will be provided an exclusive opportunity on an annual basis to meet with
their scholarship recipient at an athletic department sponsored event.
Endowed Sport Scholarship ($175,000–$374,999)
Opportunities exist to contribute a cash gift of at least $175,000 or a deferred gift with a present value
of at least $175,000 to current scholarship endowments that benefit specific sports (for example, football
or women’s basketball), which have not yet been fully funded. The earnings from these endowments are
used to assist funding athletic scholarships for the donor-designated sport (i.e., the Joe and Jane Donor
Endowed Scholarship for Women’s Basketball).

Named Endowed Scholarship ($25,000–$174,999)
Donors may establish a named endowment within the Ernie Barrett Athletic Endowment Society with a
minimum cash gift of $10,000 or a deferred gift with a present value of at least $10,000 and, if desired,
designate a sport’s general endowment fund (i.e., volleyball or baseball). Donors may also choose to remain
more general in their support (i.e., men’s varsity athletics or women’s varsity athletics).

Varsity Athletics Endowment $50–$24,999
Donors may contribute to the Ernie Barrett Athletic Endowment Society at any level. Gifts to the Varsity
Athletics Endowment will be pooled with other contributors to this fund to help increase the endowment
for athletic scholarships.

Head Coach Position Endowment $2,000,000–$3,500,000
K-State offers donors the opportunity to endow the head coach positions of its athletic teams. Donors who
make a cash gift of at least $2,000,000 or a deferred gift with a present value of at least $2,000,000 will
have the head coach position on one of K-State’s varsity athletic teams permanently named in their honor
or in the honor or memory of a loved one (i.e. the Jane Wildcat Head Volleyball Coach Position).
The athletics department will work with donors who wish to build an endowment over a period of time
(generally five years). Endowed scholarships can begin to be awarded once a fund reaches $10,000 and may
bear the name of the donor or as designated. Donors who endow a K-State Athletic Scholarship (minimum
$10,000) may pay with an outright or deferred gift.
